Abstract:
|
Mason Academic Advisor Network (MAAN) is a university-wide network of advisors created as a grassroots organization with the belief that the only way to change the culture of advising and improve the student experience would be to do it themselves. This network has a vision of providing professional and personal support for advisors through the development of a number of initiatives designed to provide training, networking, social support, and recognition of outstanding service.
This presentation will provide an overview of the various initiatives MAAN has created and discuss how the organization has been able to not only maintain its membership, but also how it has come to be looked upon by administrators as a source of knowledge and expertise. |
