Abstract:
|
Advisors wear many hats, from creating a schedule to personally walking a student to academic assistance, so it's often difficult to know how and where to target retention efforts. At the University of Pikeville, incoming freshmen complete the College Student Inventory™ (CSI) through collaboration with the First Year Studies program. The Center for Student Success listened to the students' stories via self-reported data from the CSI to identify which students may need more intentional outreach and support during the Fall 2016 and Fall 2017 semesters to guide advising strategies. Join us to see how those indicators helped us target retention efforts, the results of this method, and how we plan to move forward with this approach. |
