Abstract:
|
"Publications related to academic advising across institutional and international contexts reveal insights into the history and knowledge base of this emerging area of educational responsibility. To learn more about the trends in the scholarship of academic advising, this project uses content analysis to examine 15 years of peer-reviewed articles from 2002 through 2017 across multiple academic publications. This study of the current state of academic advising research highlights trends related to purpose, theoretical frameworks, research designs, article authorship, keywords, and prevalent themes and foci. An analysis of the findings are discussed with attention to relevant global contexts and notable gaps within the literature.
