Title: HOT TOPIC in Peer Advising and Mentoring

Abstract: Information gathered at the 2017 Peer Advising and Mentoring Commission business meeting and through the commission listserv identified many common topics of interest including:
1. Inheriting a peer program/being 'voluntold' you supervise a program;
2. the differences/similarities between peer coaching, mentoring, tutoring, and advising;
3. online programs;
4. how to keep students working in peer programs motivated/engaged in their work.
Facilitators of the Hot Topics discussion are members of the Peer Advising and Mentoring Steering Committee, and will give attendees an opportunity to discuss these topics, and will provide a forum to share best practices. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own ideas, concerns, and expertise to this roundtable session. Join representatives from the Peer Advising and Mentoring Community as we explore these and other HOT TOPICS.
