Abstract:
|
Prior to Fall 2017, Boise State University had no centralized process for assisting students on academic probation or returning from academic dismissal. Understandably, this had negative implications for student success. The Advising and Academic Support Center implemented a comprehensive intervention plan allowing us to interact with students experiencing a variety of academic difficulties across multiple platforms, including an online workshop, one-on-one proactive advising, and a for-credit resilience and skill building course. This multifaceted intervention program is designed to meet students where they are and provide resources and strategies to increase student success. This session will explore the interventions and the results following the first year of implementation. Participants will leave with skills and knowledge to propose or strengthen programs for students experiencing academic difficulty. |
