Abstract:
|
The sophomore year is a pivotal time in which students are in need of additional support and guidance. Yet, it is the time in which many universities provide the least amount of assistance and/or programming. We welcome first-year students with fanfare and cushion their transition. By sophomore year, they are ready to fly, right? In this session, we will explore an intentional sophomore outreach program designed to bolster the success of our second-year students. Participants will learn about this outreach program as well as relevant research and the experiences of second-year students. Will your sophomore students' stories consist of slumps and snags or will they tell a tale of satisfaction and success? Attend this session to consider how YOU may implement similar initiatives with your students. |
