Abstract:
|
Students who have experienced foster care have a national graduation rate of 5%. Research shows that campus support programs can help improve and increase the outcomes of foster youth, as well as those who experience homelessness. This interactive session will provide in depth detail of the campus support program at FAU, explain how utilizing the Appreciative Advising Framework is used to support the needs of foster youth, and conclude with an open discussion for how you can implement similar support efforts on your campus. |
