Want to move up in your career, but not sure how to get there?
Come to this session to advance your career strategy. Hear from advising directors from four different colleges at a large Midwestern university who will share their personal stories regarding their journey from academic advisor to advising director. Topics covered will include: 1) Defining your personal mission and vision; 2) Formulating your goals and strategy; 3) Focusing your tactics; 4) Finding a good mentor; 5) Identifying your 'working theory'; 6) Surveying the landscape with an open, growth mindset; 7) Using your time wisely in the interim while waiting for your opportunity.
Through an interactive presentation and small group discussions, real stories will be shared to empower attendees with a working framework to take ownership over their professional development in order to realize their next career goal. |
