Abstract:
"Intentional and meaningful supervision of academic advisors and administrators is critical to the success and advancement of our profession. For this reason, the presenter conducted interviews with more than a dozen current academic advisors and advising administrators to learn about their experiences with supervision and how those experiences affected their careers. The presenter will discuss her findings by sharing the stories of her participants (while maintaining their anonymity). Participants will learn about models for successful supervisory relationships as well as best practices for both those who are supervising and those who are being supervised.
