Abstract:
|
Under The University of Texas at San Antonio's Student Success Initiative, two Senior Academic Program positions were created in order to plan and implement the Resilience and Retention Advising Program. The program is designed to help students at risk, due to subsequent academic dismissal or because they were not accepted into the major of their choice. Student development theory, positive psychology and resilience, and data on best practices shaped the tenets of the program and helped us to focus on a logical, intentional action strategy. Discussion includes our program vision, institutional mandates, the implementation learning curve, and program assessments. |
