Title: The Challenge of Student Entitlement: How Can Advisors Respond?

Abstract: Are students becoming more entitled? If so, what sort of challenges does this create for academic advisors? How can advisors address these challenges? This presentation will review the current research and look at how entitlement creates problems for academic advisors. Finally, we'll look at the ways in which advisors can help entitled students achieve academic success and work positively with academic advisors and ultimately improve their ability to navigate the challenges inherent to higher education.
