Abstract:
|
Backwards design provides a framework for developing learning outcomes and designing interactions specifically to achieve those outcomes. Through the use of backwards design, advisors and administrators at any level can develop programming centered on specific learning objectives and outcomes, which allows for more specific evaluation of the efficacy of advising and advising related programming and courses. In this session, we will look at how to develop strong learning outcomes and then how to work backwards to design programs and evaluation tools through pre- and post- surveys based on the identified learning objectives. Attendees will have an opportunity to discuss the possibilities for utilizing backwards design at their own institution. |
