Abstract:
|
Non-Traditional students often feel out of place attending classes where their campus is focused on the traditional student. Sometimes our adult students feel like square pegs trying to fit into round holes. Learn how one 4 year, public institution supports their non-traditional students within a traditional campus setting. This poster presentation will describe easily adaptable types of support offered to help our students be successful as well as ways to help them build a community of their peers. We will highlight specific examples such as our "Non-Trads Rock!" campaign as well as programming offered during Non-Traditional Students Week. If you work with adult students in a similar setting, or just want to enhance your initiatives, join us to learn how this award-winning campus supports adult learners. |
