Abstract: "Advising Students with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder- an incredible story of an academic life time.
With researchers reporting that approximately 8 million adults in the US exhibit adult Attention- Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) it is inevitable that advisors will find these individuals on their advisement caseload. Are we aware of what symptoms and signs students may experience? How will these symptoms impact the academic life of the students you advise? This interactive session with videos, data, PowerPoint slide's and active discussion will seek to provide some answers for these questions and also provide ideas and strategies that an advisor can use when advising students with adult ADHD.
