Abstract:

"In this panel presentation, five educators will share their collective experiences in working with undocumented immigrant students, as well as research on the advising of undocumented students, across a variety of public and private institutions. Panelist will create awareness of the unique circumstances that affect undocumented student experiences in college and their future dreams. We will emphasize the importance of listening to the diverse voices of our students, and share student testimonials that inform our work. We will share a range of specialized initiatives that help create an 'undocufriendly' campus climate. This panel presentation will include slides and handouts, and end with an open discussion to share best practices and resources, and the opportunity to ask questions.
