Abstract: "The objective of this session is to expand the knowledge and skills of advising professionals in supporting and helping college students who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. This session extends beyond typical Safe Zone ally training by focusing on biases and microaggressions experienced in the college environment specific to gender and sexuality. Through guided activities, those who attend will grow intellectually and compassionately, which will result in more effective practice for advising across the spectrum.
