Abstract:

At this session, participants will hear about two advisors' experience with the NACADA Research Grant. They were able to travel around their state during the summer of 2017 to meet face-to-face with online students and hear about advising from the student perspective. The researchers used this qualitative data to identify themes relating to what students are seeking in an advising relationship, and recommendations for their institution's advising program. The research has already sparked new projects and ideas, and will continue to do so.
