Abstract:
|
"Do you have students that stop short of finishing their bachelor's degree? What efforts are being made to get these students to return or even recruit transfers that may be in a similar situation? WCU's 'Finish Line' program is designed with these students in mind and aligns with NC's 'Part-Way Home' initiative. This presentation will provide insight into WCU's 'Finish Line' program: including history, why students are stopping out, marketing/outreach efforts, barriers for returning, institutional challenges, campus partnerships, success stories, impact, and future goals. Most of the strategies to recover these students have little to no cost to the institution. This presentation is appropriate for any institution that would like information on identifying and helping students return to finish their degree.
