Abstract:
|
"Within the advising community, peer advising has continually gained traction as a meaningful experience for undergraduate students as they navigate their pathway to graduation. When creating a program of our own, we often look at what has been done elsewhere as we try to replicate and build from their successes. This panel presentation offers at a range of peer advising programs to facilitate an exploration of how various institutions have progressed from an idea for a peer advising program, sought-out support from campus leadership, developed a program, assessed the program, and created success through their own peer advising program. The various models, stages, and iterations represented by the panelists will provide assistance to any institution looking to jump-start, reimagine, or build upon their own peer advising program.
