Abstract:
|
Our life story is often defined by our first academic job, first boss, first mentor. For advisors and higher education professionals mentoring relationships can mean professional satisfaction, career growth, retention in the field, as well as the willingness to mentor others. What does it mean to have a mentor? What does a mentoring relationship look like? How does it form?
In this panel, you will hear from four women at different stages of their advising careers who were responsible for shaping each other's future. They represent four generations of mentors, each directly responsible for hiring or professional growth of one another. One a former NACADA Keynote Speaker, another former NACADA President.
They will share their own career stories, their professional path, research interests as well as anecdotes and memories of one another. Participants are encouraged to ask questions during the panel. |
