Abstract:
|
"Openly identifying as an ally is an excellent way to support LGBTQ students, faculty, and staff. Allies can take their personal support a step further by encouraging actions that foster an inclusive campus climate. Knowing where to start might seem like a daunting task, particularly if your campus is starting from square one. This presentation will use Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs as a framework for identifying potential needs of LGBTQ students, faculty, and staff through a brief lecture, followed by interactive group discussion and activities designed to foster an active learning environment.
