Abstract:
|
Effective educator dispositions cannot simply be checked-off on a checklist. Whether advisers are teaching FYE courses, locating volunteer experiences, assisting with resumes, helping students select classes, or even advising students in or out of the program, they assume a critical role in ensuring that students possess certain dispositions in order to be successful in their programs. What is not always obvious, is how to nurture these dispositions and get these young adults to think and act like professionals. In this workshop, I will share the materials we use to promote and evaluate teacher dispositions in our pre-education students, as well as activities to demonstrate how we developed the curriculum. |
