Abstract:
|
Advisors encourage students to explore liberal arts courses to expand their knowledge, but how often do we consider such perspectives in our own professional lives? This session explores connections among creativity, art, innovation and advising. How do we allow ourselves to be creative and artistic in the workplace? Creativity can enhance critical thinking, problem solving, and engagement with students in new and meaningful ways. Art offers advisors tools for professional self-care, mindfulness, and connecting with students and colleagues. Innovation is the application of creativity to professional practice in ways that think outside of the box. Join advisors from across the country for an interactive discussion of how creativity, art, and innovation can shape and encourage advisors to engage in practices that benefit our students, institutions, and profession. |
