Abstract:
|
The series of videos Global Voices at Ohio University is an advising and educational tool created to bridge the gap between 'domestic' and 'international' students and faculty on Ohio University campus. The videos feature international students reflecting on their academic successes, challenges, and cultural experiences at OHIO. Faculty and staff across campus have used the videos to inform their advising and teaching practices working with international students and reported the usefulness of the videos.
During the session, the videos and the interview data analyzed through Adrian Holliday's critical cosmopolitan approach (2011) will be presented. The audience will reflect on consideration for creating similar video resource in their institutions, as well as brainstorm some creative ways to use videos and interview data for research. |
