Abstract:
|
Do you feel as if the number of your advisees exceeds your means to connect with them? That your students could feel deserted by their adviser? This is a common issue as undergraduate populations continue to grow and advising staff cannot always keep pace. Within a large public institution, my department has enacted numerous practices to not only make advising more efficient, but also ensure that students feel valued and prioritized within a large campus population. We'll review several approaches to managing an oversized advising load, while also opening up the discussion to advisers in the audience, capped off by a question-and-answer session. Come see how advising can be effective, personalized, and caring regardless of the size of the advising roster. |
