Abstract:
|
In today's dynamic higher education environment, administrators and student affairs professionals must navigate the complex intersection of policy enforcement, equity, and student development. Academic advisors, directors, and senior leaders are responsible for upholding compliance while fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments. One of the most challenging aspects of this role involves delivering firm decisions with both empathy and accountability. This interactive session introduces the 5C Youth Development Model, a practical framework to help administrators communicate difficult decisions with clarity, compassion, and confidence. Through case studies, real-world scenarios, and guided practice, participants will explore strategies that balance institutional accountability with student-centered care. Attendees will leave equipped with actionable tools to strengthen student relationships, promote equity, and uphold institutional integrity as they navigate challenging conversations in their daily professional practice. |
