Abstract:
|
This interactive 60-minute session translates qualitative research findings into actionable supervisory practices for academic advising leaders. Participants will receive a concise overview of the study's purpose, methodology, and thematic development grounded in Self-efficacy Theory, including how 84 codes evolved into six major themes related to advisor competence and confidence. Findings will be illustrated through anonymized participant quotations and organized into competence and confidence domains. Attendees will engage in guided reflection, small-group dialogue, and applied strategy development to examine how supervisory behaviors influence advisor self-efficacy. A presenter-developed "Advisor Support and Self-Efficacy Reflection Tool" and strategy worksheet will support learning and application. Participants will leave with evidence-informed strategies focused on trust-building, encouragement, and professional development to strengthen advisor effectiveness and organizational impact. |
