Abstract:
|
Data without action is just noise. When academic advisors systematically collect, analyze, and translate appointment data into strategic initiatives, transformation happens. This session presents a comprehensive case study of how one community college used three years of appointment trend analysis to drive meaningful change during advising centralization and Guided Pathways implementation. Discover how tracking student presenting concerns, appointment volume, and advisor workload informed departmental restructuring, mandatory advising implementation, and cross-institutional collaboration. Learn practical strategies for collecting meaningful data within existing workflows, identifying actionable insights through interactive data visualization exercises, and connecting individual advising work to institutional priorities. Participants will receive practical ideas and tools for any institutional context. Whether beginning data collection or enhancing existing practices, leave with concrete strategies to build a solutions-focused, data-driven advising culture that demonstrates measurable impact on student success. |
