Abstract:
|
Have you ever pondered the transformative power of storytelling in shaping experiences and fostering deep learning? In the realm of academic advisor onboarding, where the journey of guiding students unfolds, the integration of active learning techniques presents an opportunity to transform the traditional approach. Imagine a scenario where advisors embark on their roles not just armed with procedural knowledge but equipped with the narrative expertise to engage and empower students on their educational journeys.
Geared towards individuals tasked with designing and delivering advisor development, this session goes beyond conventional training methods to explore the power of storytelling. Participants will embark on an exploration of how narrative-driven learning can redefine the onboarding experience, setting the stage for advisor engagement and success from day one.
Through a series of hands-on activities, case studies, and interactive discussions, attendees will: 1) explore real-world examples showcasing the impact of storytelling on engagement, retention, and performance; 2) learn the art of storytelling and how to weave compelling narratives that resonate with new advisors; and 3) develop actionable strategies for implementing storytelling techniques within their existing advisor onboarding framework, ensuring sustainable and impactful results. By the end of this workshop, participants will leave with a newfound appreciation for the power of storytelling and active learning in advisor development as well as a toolkit of practical strategies to transform their onboarding program. |
