Abstract:
|
We use words every day that seem simple - words like registration, placement, and financial aid. To those new to college, this language can feel overwhelming and confusing. In this session, we will review research of how higher education 'jargon' can impact the student experience and through a word association activity, we will bring awareness of ways in which our common words can be communicated to be more inclusive and welcoming to students. |
