Abstract:
|
While diverse learning styles have molded higher education over the past decades, success coaching fostering an inclusive learning environment presents an alternative wave of student success efforts in a first-year experience course. These targeted coaching strategies are emerging as a viable, comprehensive approach to impacting persistence and retention by equipping students with the necessary tools to succeed within academic degree programs, fostering self-efficacy, resilience, and empowerment. This presentation will provide strategies and best practices for integrating student success coaching and targeted programming into a first-year orientation course focused explicitly on first-time, full-time students.
Certified success coaches will discuss, detail, and demonstrate how a first-year experience course was strategically transformed into a comprehensive persistence and retention program. |
