Abstract:
|
This session promises to be an informal place for new advising managers to discuss best practices, hurdles, and opportunities in their new roles. Retaining new managers in higher education, is difficult. new managers often get little training, mentorship, or guidance on how to transition into these roles. This round table will propose group topics such as balancing employee well being with priorities, how we innovate, how we experienced the transition to manager, and the increased workload that is being placed on new managers. This is a great place to chat with other people, who understand the difficult and rewards of being a new manager. |
