Abstract:
|
When was the last time you reviewed your auto-reply message? Out-of-office and auto-reply emails are often a standard practice in navigating the vast amounts of emails higher education professionals receive daily (Oyedotun, 2023). The messages we send and the words we use matter greatly in our communication with students. How can we create out-of-office and auto-reply emails that students will actually read? In this interactive session, we will explore the psychology behind out-of-office and auto-reply emails and how to apply the principles of Appreciative Education to write appreciative messages. Participants will have the opportunity to analyze and revise sample out-of-office and auto-reply messages and apply the concepts of Appreciative Education to their own messaging. |
