Advising Administrators: Discussing Advisor Anxiety, Turnover, and Training Amid Increased Demands
Is your campus facing enrollment challenges and are advisors expected to play a role in addressing these challenges? Are you concerned that changing expectations for your advisors is creating anxiety that may be affecting their continuation as advisors? How does your campus train your advisors to address these concerns?
This session will be an open discussion focusing on training and retaining academic advisors as the pool of prospective students diminishes while advisor responsibilities increase. Discussion points anticipated are advisor roles related to student retention and persistence; divergent needs of students; the impact of CPoS; changes in dismissal and probation policies.
This session will provide a place for sharing ideas, learning from each other, and planning for the future. |
