Abstract:
|
In 2019, our college implemented a required seminar course for both first-year and transfer students to aid in student success and retention. To create this transfer seminar, the first-year seminar course content was adapted to be utilized to best serve the transfer student populations and their unique needs. Updates continue to be made to create a course that assists in transfer student engagement and building community amongst each other. Recently, the introduction of in-class participation points and activity-based lesson plans have positively contributed to student engagement. This session will review our rationale, changes, and future for the transfer seminar course. |
