Abstract:
|
Solo academic advisors often face challenges in serving students due to their limited resources and workload. This presentation uses the term solo advisor to refer to individuals who serve as the only academic advisor for their unit. Even with larger advising teams, there are individuals who function as the lead, and sometimes only, or solo, advisor serving a particular student population. Led by two professionals who have worked individually and on teams, this presentation explores the dynamic relationship between solo advisors and campus partners, highlighting the benefits of collaboration in addressing students' diverse needs. Presenters will showcase specific case studies of how they fostered partnerships on their campus to support their students. Key takeaways from this session include strategies for leveraging the expertise of resources across your campus as well as among partner institutions. |
