Abstract: Freshmen students interested in a healthcare career often enter college without a major and career direction. 'Helping students make good decisions is central to the practice of academic advising (Steele, 2013)'. Strategies that involve working together to help students decide on a major and specific healthcare career will be reviewed. During COVID-19, it is important to connect with students to assist with major and career decisions. Session will focus on ways to use self-care and career knowledge with students. Theoretical foundations for indecisiveness and Gen Z characteristics will be examined. Connection to the information component and relational component with the Core Competencies for Academic Advising will be reviewed.
