Abstract:

Burnout, impostorism, and productivity anxiety are common side effects advisors and advisees face while occupying higher educational spaces.Therefore, how do we as advisors intentionally incorporate self-care practices in our academic advising sessions with our advisees? In this presentation, the audience will 1) examine the act of Radical Self-Care as a tool for preservation and rejuvenation, 2) survey literature on the importance of practicing self-care for advisors and advisees in higher education, and 3) discuss strategies and techniques to incorporate self-care in their academic advising practice. |
